Muzeo and the Anaheim Heritage Center Reading Room
The Anaheim Heritage Reading Room at the MUZEO contains a vast collection of materials documenting the history of Anaheim. The collection houses a variety of materials, including newspapers, photographs, oral histories, yearbooks and directories. The center is also a depository for Disney Archives materials pertaining to Anaheim and Disneyland. The center is directed by Jane Newell, who also manages the historic homes at Founder's Park. The Heritage Center welcomes planned class visits, and presentations are based on the standards set for the third-grade curriculum.
The MUZEO itself is also a wonderful source for primary resources, and provides several diverse exhibits every year. These exhibits were all designed to meet the California State Content Standards, and the museum provides education guides so that teachers may plan lessons around the exhibit material. Field trip grants are offered by sponsors like Target, and the museum offers discounts for educational group visits. All Anaheim school groups receive free admission.
